  Ugh. The hope for what we do not see video is going to be a trip. It opens with an ambulance taking a JW with a blood card to the hospital. Lovely!

  So much for not doubling down on blood. I'll watch and see what this mess is about.

  The smug arrogance of "having the truth".

  has anyone noticed that witnesses (from the top down) seem to have a quiet form of smug arrogance toward all non witnesses?.

  perhaps it comes from being told how "special and unique" they are but they end up looking down on all normal members of the community because they are not witnesses.. so any form of "love" they show those in the territory is also limited as long as they accept the message...otherwise they are viewed contemptuously as "worldly" and therefore of little value...after all,they will be destroyed right?.

  Londo nailed it.

  WT has the market cornered not on smugness, but on the doublethink in regards to smugness. On one hand.....be smug as hell. On the other, act pious. that way you can have your smug and eat it too.

  I was once like this if I am being honest with myself. Not that much.....but it was there.

  I don't think investigating because of child abuse is going to be the thing here. It has to be because of shunning. Shunning envokes thoughts of removal of freedom.

  Makes perfect sense. JW's forbid service to your community such as this mans, and they believe the US government is a shell which Satan uses for his bidding......why not throw on a mini billboard, and meet the president receiving a medal for the honor your grandson served in while you disapproved.

  I think the next doctrinal change may be regarding the 144,000. Something complex enough to make the average JW not really get it or really be relieved its easier to "understand". It will not be disfelllowshipping. That is the control mechanism.

  Nah. Guy was not "going to meetings" last few years. Probably just something he did for a while, and he lost interest, nobody in the org is going to hold a musical icons feet to the fire.

  if his funeral is to be held in the KH, the SOLE purpose would be the ability for the JW brand and service to reach a mass audience.

  You guys sure this is still being taught? I recall the creative days now being allegorical (duh), and refferencing a period of time that cannot be known.

  I really don't think they still teach creative days are 1K or 7K from Genesis.
